Last night, while sitting at home sick, i had the most interesting conversation with a person i have only met once in my life. Ironically enough, he just so happens to be my ex’s new boyfriend, hell of a nice guy, very intelligent, open minded, exc.

The conversation wrapped up around the concept of art. So, what is art anyway? Most people would argue it is something you can visualize, hear, exc. Art is something created as an expression, but is that all? Hell no, it is much more then just that. Art, above all else makes you think and feel, it creates emotion, change, revolution. Objects usually seen as artistic such as a painting or poem do exactly that, they are made for the sole purpose of expressing ones self, however, art is so much more.

Situations throughout history, good or bad can be taken in an artistic standpoint for the same reason, they make us feel. You might think this sounds crazy, but think about it. Like today, the war in Iraq, the current situation of the world, horrible, simply horrible. However, that being said, based on the theory i have stated above, it can be used in an artistic manner. Does it not create emotion? Does it not make you feel? Can you not paint a picture in your mind about people suffering all around, or others trying to hide from the truth and in the same manner, can you not paint a picture of how to change this exact plight into something better? Can you not hear the call for change all around?

The truth is, no matter how bleak a situation comes to be, good can come out of it if enough people stop just thinking, and start acting to those thoughts. This is what creates revolution. This is what creates change. This is what makes us think and feel. This is what makes us see the world around us. This is what helps us hear not only the cries for help, but the potential laughter of generations to come in the future. This I state again is what creates change and change is artistic.

Dont just think about this, visualize it. The future is ours, and the future will either thrive or falter. Make it what it is, and it will become what you make it. Doesnt matter where you come from. Doesnt matter what you look like. Doesnt matter which gender you choose to fuck. Doesnt matter what you choose to believe in. All that matters is you accept your own beliefs, but at the same time accept the fact that no one else in the world will ever completely believe reality in the same way you do. Honestly, if everyone did think the same way, what the hell would we be trying to save?
